Latin Poem: O' Dracones!

O' Dracones!

Ubi sunt thesauri tui?
Ubi sunt opes?

In mundo habitas?
Expendere mortuis?

Ubi est cor tuum?
Ubi animus?

O' Dracones!

Ubi sunt familia tui?
Ubi sunt opes?

In familia est cor.
Familia thesauri mea.

Ibi est cor tuum.
Ibi animus.

Vale,

Tokus Cassius

Poem: On Getting to Ancient Roman Ruins in Germania

Sits back, off the main track:
slim brown sign points the way...
or follow orange squares, either way...
huff, puff, up the hill, a ways...
a ways, further still, nearly there.

Don't slip on the ice and snow:
stay to the edge, walk up the road...
or follow the sidewalk, another road...
huff, puff, up the hill, O' road...
O' road, further still, nearly there.

On the hill, finally, Roman ruins:
before me memories, rock outlines...
or long standing, little stone room lines...
huff, puff, up goes the smoke lines...
smoke lines, further 'til, no roof here.

Which room, Roman cooking:
guess a lot while German reading...
or follow intuition water treading...
huff, puff, abwasser downhill leading...
hill leading, further 'til, no pipe here.

Down we go, a Roman path:
trodden snow, evidence still in use...
or follow creek's babbling as an excuse....
huff, puff, downhill, O' ice a truce...
ice a truce, further hill, let slip no fear.

Links: 2010 - 2014 Poetry

Years are listed in reverse-chronological order, while the poems are listed arbitrarily within the year they were originally written and published.

With the 2014 demise of Helium.com and Yahoo! Contributor Network, I'm looking for new cyber homes for my work, subsequently, I'll add the links as I find homes. In the mean time, here are some links to poems found on my Finley Experience blog. Some of these were written for the annual Finley Experience International Views Poetry Contest and some were written because poets write poetry.

Check back regularly for more poems. Check the archives for earlier works.
